What the Therapist Doesn’t Know, Can Hurt

Exercise tracking gives you objective data between visits; we’ve made it easier than ever to collect it.

You’ve heard this story before; you build the exercise program, demo the exercises, and they leave the clinic motivated to start. Two weeks later they’re back in your room and you ask how it went. “Pretty good, I did my exercises” they say and you adjust the program based on this progress.

What you didn’t know: they did it for three days, found it too hard, got bored and quietly stopped. Not because they didn’t want to get better, they had no way to communicate this to you and told you what they were comfortable admitting. It’s the same reason people tell their dentist they floss every day. It’s not malicious. It’s human. But it means the information you’re basing clinical decisions on is often incomplete, optimistic, or just plain wrong.

Exercise tracking in Wibbi changes that. Real data, logged by the patient in the moment and visible to you every day, not just at the next appointment.

The Data You Can’t Get Any Other Way

Tracking setup gives you something different: objective, session-by-session data logged at the time of exercise. Did they complete it? What weight did they use? How difficult did they find it? How much pain were they in? That’s the kind of information that changes a clinical conversation and decision.

If a patient quietly reduced their load over three sessions, you could see it. If they’re consistently rating difficulty at 9 out of 10, you know the program needs adjusting before they tell you or before they stop doing it altogether.

And it’s not just useful for you. Patients can see their own progress too. Watching completions stack up, seeing their reps increase, or noticing their pain scores drop over time, that’s motivating in a way that “keep it up” at the end of an appointment simply isn’t. Tracking turns the program into something they’re invested in, not just assigned to.

What has changed?

Tracking setup used to live in a different place in Wibbi, but it is now available directly from the program setup page, right where you’re already working. You configure it, save, and send. One workflow, not two.

The tracking icon is still available in its original location for anyone who needs a quick glance once tracking has been setup, but now we’ve made it easier than ever to select what and how the client’s exercise parameters are tracked.

Pick the Fields That Match the Exercise Program

Not every program needs the same data. Wibbi lets you choose exactly which fields
patients can report on:

A mobility program might only need completion and difficulty. A strengthening program benefits from weight, sets, and reps. Keeping it focused means patients aren’t overwhelmed, and you’re only reviewing what’s actually useful. The right tracking fields turn patient reporting into a clinical tool, not just a checkbox.

Better Patient Data, Better Conversations

Once a patient starts completing the program, their data appears in the tracking review area, session by session, field by field. You can see it before the appointment, during a quick check between patients, or whenever it’s useful.

That data changes how follow-up conversations go. Instead of asking “how did it go?” and working from memory, you’re looking at what actually happened. You can discuss a specific session, address a pattern, or adjust the program with something concrete to point to.

It also opens up the chat. If you notice a patient dropped their weight three sessions in a row, you don’t have to wait for the next appointment to check in. You can reach out now using our CHAT feature, which is exactly the kind of proactive care that builds trust and keeps patients engaged.

Start Using It

If you’ve been building programs in Wibbi without setting up tracking, you’ve been missing the most useful layer of information available to you between visits. The good news is it takes less than a minute to configure and it’s now right there when you’re building the program.

Next time you create or edit a program, look for Set-Up Tracking on the program setup page. Choose the fields that make sense for that patient. Save and send. Knowledge Base Article: https://news.wibbi.com/en/how-to-use-exercise-tracking-in-wibbi

Then see what you’ve been missing.
